DEVIN TOWNSEND Schedules Washingon Acoustic Performance
February 10, 2010Canadian musician/producer Devin Townsend (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, STEVE VAI, LAMB OF GOD, DARKEST HOUR, GWAR) will play a free solo acoustic show at the SoulFood bookstore (15748 Redmond Way) in Redmond, Washington on February 27 at 6:00 p.m. The event, presented by Alvarez Guitars, Mackie and InsideOut Music, is the first in a series of acoustic shows Devin will perform, and will feature a full set with never-before-played music. The venue is small and intimate so if you're coming to check it out, it is recommended that you arrive early. Special one-of-a-kind handmade merch will be available, too.
Devin Townsend played a 40-minute acoustic set at the Alvarez booth at this year's NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) show on Saturday, January 16 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. A clip of the "Ki" performance can be viewed below. Photos of Devin's appearance can be found at TomCouture.com.
"Addicted", the second in a series of albums from Townsend to be made available under THE DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT moniker, sold 3,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 168 on The Billboard 200 chart. It also landed at position No. 2 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
